Smoothies are an easy way to get loads of medicinal nutrients into your body in a delicious way. This smoothie is super simple and one of my favorite on its own or as a base in which you can add even more nutritious and delicious things to for future meals and snacks.
Remember, our intention is always to make more than one serving so we save time with food prep! When you are smart with food prep you not only reap the rewards of improving your health but you have more time to enjoy your life!
Lets dive into the smoothie recipe!
Remember, 99.9% of the time that I’m preparing food I make enough for future meals and snacks. Same with the smoothie. I never keep smoothies more than 3 days in the refrigerator. It is just a sense I get. Some people feel ok with four or five days so practice using your intuitive senses and decide how long you feel comfortable keeping your food after the initial creation. When you are using coconut meat like in this recipe I highly recommend only keeping leftovers for three days.
- 16 ounces coconut water (Exotic Superfoods or Harmless Harvest)
- 1 cup coconut meat (Exotic Superfoods)
- 3 cups power greens
- 2 heaping tbsps Pure Synergy
- 4 heaping scoops collagen powder
*Blend all ingredients till smooth and creamy. Sip, swirl and savor every sip!
Yes, I said swirl. When you sip a smoothie you must swirl it around your mouth before you swallow it so that the enzymes in your mouth can start digesting it! I promise this will become a habit. Plus, you will enjoy the flavor even longer when you swirl. Another benefit of swirling a smoothie is if the smoothie is cold the swirling action warms it up before you swallow it. Since cold things arrest digestion and room temperature and warm things allow for easier digestion this can be a helpful tip for anyone suffering with digestion issues.
My favorite use of this smoothie is to pour it into a bowl and add the toppings of my desire in the moment.
The day I took this picture I added:
- soaked goji berries (pictured)
- bee pollen (pictured)
- chlorella (not pictured)
Now your turn!
Make the recipe above and then sense and feel what you desire to add to it with each serving. Here are more ideas:
- non-gluten granola
- coconut flakes
- sprouted nuts and seeds
- dried fruit
You can create a thicker pudding with this recipe by adding more coconut meat and less coconut water. This makes for a wonderful dessert!!
Please share pictures of your creations!
