Mindfulness meditation combats chronic pain.
Mindfulness triggers a neurological, pain-relieving response. It also helps you cultivate a nonjudgmental, accepting attitude toward the pain.
Pain is a combination of mental, emotional and physical and mindfulness is a fantastic way to change the mental aspect of it.
You change your relationship to the pain so that it stops ruling your life.
Meditation promotes relaxation, calming of the nervous system, muscle relaxation and a reduction in stress which all help to relieve chronic pain.
What you can not do is focus on reducing your pain. Instead focus on reducing stress, the joy in your life and mindfulness- the pain will gradually decrease over time.
Practice mindful meditation 10-20 minutes per day.
You have the power to turn down the volume control on the brain’s pain-sensing network allowing you to consciously feel less pain.
