Your body will always guide you in the correct direction.
There are different levels and ways to eat well, move well and live well. When my body starts to feel heavy and a bit sluggish I know it’s time to RETURN TO THE BASICS!
So much of living well is truly RETURNING TO THE BASICS.
The basics include:
- optimal sleep.
- 2-3 Liters of clean water between meals (not with other food or drinks).
- clean simple real organic food.
- calming the nervous system with optimal breathing, rest, meditation & mindfulness.
- decluttering stuff on the mind, physical stuff, people and everything not serving your highest good.
- time in nature.
- natural expansive movement.
- reflection time and intention setting for moving forward.
This is where I am today. I’m pressing the reset button. We all need that at times. It’s not that I’ve been eating so-called “bad” foods but after a little stomach virus my appetite is off, I’ve been mixing foods I don’t usually mix, staying up later and wanting to sleep-in. These are all signs to me that it’s time for a reset to the basics.
A reset will look different for everyone but I hope from my story here you can gather a few ideas for your own resets.
Today my intention is returning to simplicity. I woke early, started to clean-up and set my intentions for the day and week for my reset.
A big part of my resets is eating simple- super simple.
Today will just be loads of water, a bit of coffee this morning which i’m sipping on right now as I write this, green juice with all my supplements and when I’m hungry later i’ll munch on fresh fruit and finally a simple smoothie for dinner. I’ll do this routine for a few days to give my digestive system a break. My body will tell me when it’s ready for more food.
Remember, a huge part of resetting is not doing it via your mind but listening to your body.
Let your body guide you in what to eat, what to declutter from your life, how to move, how much time to spend in nature, who to spend time with, how much rest you need, how much sleep you need etc etc.
If your body is guiding you to return to the basics the best thing you can do is find a quiet space and notice what your body is guiding you to do. Ask your whole mind body emotion soul system what it needs for your personalized reset. And then make a plan of action.
